Home office with a white desk holding a silver Apple iMac, a black coffee cup on a saucer, and numerous notebooks and books. A large black-and-white portrait of a woman hangs on the wall. Shelves contain framed photographs and artwork, and a window lets in natural light, illuminating fresh flowers in a vase.

About Real Life Jump

Real Life Jump is a space for beautiful rooms and real life — before-and-afters, design decisions, the small details that change how a home feels and the stories that unfold inside it.

After 17 years practicing law and sitting in a boardroom, I’m stepping into a more creative chapter—one I’ve always made time for in the margins: shaping rooms, refining a vision, learning what works (and what doesn’t), having fun playing at, and managing, our lake house rental and building a home that feels calm, intentional, and lived-in. I’m based in Guelph, Ontario, and I share renovation and design projects as they happen — mood boards, sourcing, styling, and the honest in-between.

I don’t believe great design is about perfection. It’s about creating spaces that support the way you want to live — spaces that hold your routines, your people and your seasons.

Here you’ll find:

  • Room-by-room home projects, mood boards, and before-and-afters

  • Design ideas you can actually use (with sources + links when I can)

  • Lake house + short-term rental notes — design updates, hosting and systems

  • A little lifestyle-by-design: mindset, books, and the quiet work of choosing a life that feels like yours

If you’re here for ideas, encouragement, or simply a place to pause and feel inspired — welcome. This is the jump.
